Home Remedies for Face Wrinkles

While everyone is busy searching for ways to make themselves appear more youthful, and to reduce the signs of aging, not everyone has the money for expensive plastic surgery or cosmetic injections, or the time for extensive spa treatments. Many prefer to utilize methods that are more cost-effective and less fraught with risk. Fortunately, for those who would rather utilize methods which are more natural, there are a variety of home remedies for face wrinkles, many of which involve materials which may already be in your kitchen cupboards.

Egg whites are a powerful home remedy for face wrinkles. When you crack an egg, there is a pouch of liquid at the bottom which frequently remains intact after the contents of the egg have been poured out; pierce this pouch, and spread the material contained within it to the lines under your eyes, and around your mouth. Various oils are also great for fine lines and wrinkles; almond and coconut oils are well-known for their ability to restore skin’s health and elasticity, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Applying almond oil around the eyes and neck at bedtime can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles while you sleep.

Fruit is also one of the best home remedies for face wrinkles. For fine wrinkles, you can rub the core of a pineapple or a green apple on your face, and leave the juice there for about five or ten minutes. It is also beneficial to cut grapes in half, and crush the halves on your face at the wrinkle lines. Leave the juice on for approximately twenty minutes, and then rinse with warm water.

For those who are looking for a more effective remedy, and don’t mind playing around with a recipe a little, there are various recipes out there which can make great natural treatments for fine lines and wrinkles. One such recipe, which can be made with ingredients you may already have in your home, involves 3 capsules of vitamin E, 2 teaspoons of plain yogurt, ½ teaspoon honey, and ½ teaspoon lemon juice. All ingredients should be mixed together, and when well-blended, applied to the face with a cotton ball. After about ten minutes, rinse with warm water. If you are a bit more adventurous, or have access to herbal ingredients, you can also try making a solution from ¼ cup comfrey infusion, ¼ cup witch hazel, and 10 drops of patchouli essential oil. Not only does this solution help with wrinkles, but it also smells great. Again, this mixture can be applied with a cotton ball, and should be rinsed off after a few minutes. Rose and pomegranate have also been said to provide anti-wrinkle benefits.

In addition to the various substances you can put on your face, just as important are the ones you put in your face. Consuming certain types of foods can help to prevent, or even reverse, cell damage and wrinkles. Antioxidants, compounds which fight free radicals and help to prevent damage to cell membranes, are found naturally in a variety of foods, including nuts, legumes (especially soy), and colorful fruits and vegetables. Fatty acids, such as those found in fish, are also helpful for cells because they assist cells with retaining moisture, making them plump and firm and helping them to fill in the spaces where wrinkles lie. Eating a balanced diet is key, but taking a multivitamin can also help, as selenium and copper both help to keep skin healthy and retain its elasticity. Freshly-brewed green and white tea are also powerful delivery methods for antioxidants.
